In Attendance: Phyllis High, Pat Morgan, Susan Evans, Barbara Grignano and Debra Nyddeger.

The Boalsburg Heritage Museum Acquisitions Committee has accepted the following recent offerings to add to our collection:

  • 2 HEAD COVERS FOR A WOMAN - One is a rectangle piece of black gauze material and the other is a black silk bonnet with no ties, circa 19th century. These were found in collection with a note written Feb 2002 that they came from Evelyn Brooks Breon and belonged to her grandmother.

  • GRADUATION PICTURE OF BOALSBURG HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1938 - This is a duplicate of a framed photo in the parlor. Photo was accepted.

  • INFANT'S WHITE CHRISTENING GOWN - Given by Martha Hummel. Martha and her husband once rented an apartment in the Boal Mansion. She received the cotton gown from Lillian Dickson who was living in the Boal Mansion during the 1950's.

  • HAND CRAFTED WOODEN DOLL HOUSE AND FURNITURE, DOG HOUSE AND DOG, AND GARAGE - Given by Paula Schempf Carroll. The structures were made in 1917 by the father of Eleanor Schempf (previous volunteer at the Boalsburg Heritage Museum). The doll house had been displayed in the Museum during the holidays on several occasions in 1990's when Eleanor was a volunteer. Paula also donated two dolls with period doll clothing that belonged to her mother, Eleanor.
  • Sara Sweet House; Site of The Boalsburg Heritage Museum
The Sara Sweet House, built in 1825, houses the Boalsburg Heritage Museum.
