Join us for a fun filled Season Opening celebration and reception from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Be sure to make the Boalsburg Heritage Museum a BIG part of your Memorial Day celebration! The Museum is open from 12:00 Noon to 4:00 PM with FREE admission. Tour the Museum Farmhouse built in 1825, the Bank Barn, ‘Light House’, and exhibits. Enjoy a delicious vegetable or bean soup .
NOTE: New this year —the Soup Kettles will be found on the Boalsburg Heritage Museum Grounds.
There will be the annual Essay Contest for the children, from 1 PM—2 PM, Followed at 2 PM by Dan & Galla performing in the area of the of the museum front porch.
Also, John Wood and Eric Johnson will be demonstrating blacksmith techniques from 10:00 AM—4:00 PM in the Blacksmith Shop, tucked around the east side of the old coachworks factory (the building that now houses the Harris Township Offices).
We are especially thrilled to revive our Garden/Theatre Party and to spend an evening with you! The Garden Party will begin at the Boalsburg Heritage Museum at 6:00 PM where folks will enjoy great local food and beverages. At 7:00 PM, the party will work it’s way to the Boal Barn Playhouse where Nittany Theatre will present “Treasure Island”. Curtain time will be 7:30 PM. Tickets will be available through NittanyTheatre.org or by Phone (814-321-2799) for a combination of the two events. Center Choice Seats are available for $40.
Boalsburg’s Annual Hometown Christmas celebration will take place on December 2, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM with free admission to the Boalsburg Heritage Museum. The Boalsburg Heritage Museum will hold a Cookie Contest with the top 3 winners announced at Breakfast with Santa at 10:00 AM on December 2. Please drop off cookies on December 1, 2017 for contest entry. Following Breakfast with Santa, we would hold a Cookie Sale at 11:00 AM until all cookies are SOLD OUT!
