The information provided on this page is intended for Press Release. ** PRESS RELEASE - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ** Boalsburg Heritage Museum: New Year, New Website, New Exhibits! The Boalsburg Heritage Museum has also released it's 2010 exhibit and events schedules: The first exhibit for the season will begin on Tuesday, April 6th, 2010, and will feature the handmade Ukrainian Easter Egg collection by Judy Hackman. This exhibit will run to the end of May. A special feature will also run during this time featuring an Antique Parlor Heating Stove, formally used in the Centre Furnace Mansion, and donated by Mr. and Mrs. Herman Richey. The Museum will also hold a feature exhibit on the Dale and Hess Families, two local prominent families significant to Boalsburg's history. On Monday, May 31st, Memorial Day, the Museum will hold it's Annual Memorial Day Festivities that include the Blacksmith Shop; Petting Zoo; Museum, Bank Barn, and grouds tours; Soup and Bread Sale, and much more. From Tuesday, June 1st through July and to the end of August, the Museum will exhibit, "The Education of an Artist" by Boalsburg native, Kevin Witherite and will feature many of his Pen & Ink sketches, Oil Paintings, Wood burnings, Photographs, Pencil and Charcoal Sketches, and Abstract Graphic Designs. On Wednesday, June 30th, the Museum will hold it's Annual Museum Theatre Fund Raiser Party. A wine and cheese party will kick off the popular annual fund raiser for the Museum, followed by the musical "Wonderful Town" at the Boal Barn. The event begins at 6:30 PM with the party at the Museum prior to the play. The musical begins at 8:00 PM. Tickets are $15 per person, and are available from any Museum Board member, or by calling (814) 466-3035, before 8:00 PM. From September through December, the Museum will exhibit "Dolls and Bears" by Sue Spalvins featuring bears and antique dolls and offering a nostalgic look at how dolls evolved through the 19th and 20th centuries. In Late November, the Boalsburg and Linden Hall Garden Clubs will create beautiful natural decorations for the holiday season at the Museum. The Boalsburg Heritage Museum has also announced the re-launching of their website after an extensive redesign during the winter months.
